Welcome to the Gforce Bands Blog
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Why a blog?
Greetings to all who visit. I decided to start this blog as a way to communicate with my clients and any visitors who might happen to stop by for a visit. I intend to keep a record of the events that the bands will be playing, give some background on what's happening with the band members, and use this forum as a springboard for comments, questions and /or discussion about the wedding and corporate event industry. Please feel free to share your comments or ideas in this open discussion.

To start things off, I would like to say that I have an awesome job and I feel extremely blessed to be able to do what I do with some really amazing people. I feel so fortunate working with my band mates who for the last 11 years have always inspired me to excel in the music business. It is sooooo cool to be able to make music for a living. I can't begin to tell you how nice it is having a job that you love to do. When the band is in the groove and the party is jumping, there is no better feeling in the world. Well.. take that back, there's one better feeling in the world but we are not allowed to talk about that on this forum:^)

As band leader of Gforce and manager of Gforce II, I have many tasks that I have to perform in order to keep the whole machine running. I do all the PR, the artwork, the website, the sales, the book keeping and the music arranging. Whew! that's a lot of hats to wear but one of the nice things is that I don't get bored because there are so many things to do. I really enjoy working with computers. I use Logic Audio for writing charts for the band and music production (Mac format). I also use a lot of Adobe products for things like video editing (Adobe Premiere Elements) and of course Photoshop, GoLive and InDesign for all the promo materials. My lovely wife Lynn, who used to be the singer in the band, works for Adobe as an application engineer. The great thing about that is that I get free technical support from her whenever I have an issue to resolve. I suppose I'll keep her around for a while (LOL)
More on Lynn in a later post. I could write volumes!

Actually I could write volumes on any one of the different aspect of running this business so I guess I'll save the details for future posts.

This weekend Gforce II will be playing at Kristen's wedding at the PNC Arts Center.

This Saturday, 8/13, I am not working with Gforce but actually playing with the #1 Bar/Party band on the planet, the Nerds. I have worked with these guys on and off for the last 7 years and it is always a blast when I have the opportunity to do so. The Nerds will be celebrating their 20th year as a band!
That is a major accomplishment! I used to play with Biff (the drummer) in a band called Ricochet in the 80's. Oops, I'm giving away my age now. Anyway, we will be playing at the House of Blues in Atlantic City. Rumor has it that the NY Dolls are playing before we go on. For you youngsters out there, the New York dolls were one of the first punk/glam bands of the late 70s that dressed in drag. The lead singer is David Johanson IE Buster Poindexter (Hot Hot Hot). It will be interesting to see if these guys are still into the drag thing now that they're nearing 60. Frightening thought...
I am sure that we'll have fun because the Nerds are always up for a good time. I have been leading the Nerds horn section (called the C-Section) for over 5 years now. We dress as doctors and have a lot of fun goofing around on stage and providing pro bono surgery for the Nerds.

Thats all for now...

This is really becoming a mess, MR BUSH.

Too heavy?

Hi Chris:

Thanks for careing...love you man. Please lets not use this forum to bash Mr. Bush. I definately think that Israel will be on our side.

As far as the Beatles goes... my vote is for the White Album... What's an Album?
